Platform

Every file the matter throws at you — in, converted, and searchable.

Drag in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDFs, images, emails and archives. BriefTech renders each to PDF, OCRs the scans, and adds them to a full-text index automatically — before you touch a thing.

How it works

From raw file to searchable document

  1. 01

    Drop the files

20+ formats today, and we convert almost anything else you send. Anything that can't be converted lands in an Exceptions view, so nothing is silently lost.

  2. 02

    Convert & OCR

Each file is rendered to PDF and scanned pages are OCR'd, so even photographed exhibits and faxed pages become real, searchable text.

  3. 03

    Index automatically

Every document joins a full-text search index the moment it lands — searchable across the whole matter, with no separate processing step.

What it handles

Formats and sources, out of the box

  • Office files

Word, Excel / CSV and PowerPoint converted to PDF on upload.

  • PDFs & images

Rendered and OCR'd, including scanned and photographed exhibits.

  • Email

.msg and .eml messages with attachments extracted as separate documents.

  • Archives

ZIP, PST, OST and mbox unpacked into the files they contain.

  • CAD & vector

.dwg, .dxf and SVG rendered to a reviewable PDF.

  • Protected & oversized

Large PDFs split or edited in-browser; a password-protected file is flagged in Exceptions for you to unlock outside the app and re-upload.

Uploading, converting, OCR and indexing are all free — credits are only charged once, per document, when you first produce an export or bundle.

In short

Ingestion is the quiet stage that decides how good the rest of the matter feels.

BriefTech treats it as production infrastructure: whatever a client, an opponent or a court sends becomes a clean, OCR’d, searchable PDF in the same index as everything else — so review, indexing and bundling all start from one consistent set.

Put Ingest & OCR to work

Almost any file type in — auto-converted, OCR'd, indexed.
