Get a thousand-document matter into shape — three ways at once.

Folders mirror how the files arrived, labels mark what matters, and collections carve the set into subsets you can work one at a time. Then a content-aware Duplicate Finder clears the copies before they reach a bundle.

Three ways to organise

Folders, labels, collections — independent, and used together

  1. 01

    Folders

Uploads keep their original folder tree, and you can create, rename and drag documents to reshape it. Generate Document Index headings straight from your folders in one step.

  2. 02

    Labels

Colour-coded markers you create per matter — relevance, privilege, issue tags — applied by drag or in bulk. A document can carry more than one, and you manage them from the sidebar.

  3. 03

    Collections

Named subsets of a matter you can analyse, index or bundle on their own — so a large set becomes workable one segment at a time. A document can sit in several.

De-duplicate

Catch the copies — by content, not just filename

  • Duplicate Document Finder

Compares documents by content and lists near-identical pairs with a similarity score you can tune (default 70%). In beta, and free to run.

  • Compare, then bin

Open any pair side by side, and move the copy you don't need to the Bin. Binned documents drop straight out of the results.

  • Same-filename warning

At upload, files matching an existing name in the same folder are flagged before the batch lands — keep them or exclude them.

  • Tick-box filtering

Narrow the matter by folder, label, class and collection. Ticks widen the view within one list and narrow it across lists.

  • Nothing lost by accident

Binned copies aren't deleted — restore them from the Bin, or delete for good once you're sure.

The Duplicate Document Finder is activated once per matter by the matter's owner; after that it's free to run whenever you need it.

In short

Organising is where a pile of files becomes a case you can move through.

BriefTech keeps three organising tools deliberately separate — folders for where a document came from, labels for what it means, collections for the slice you want to act on — because a real matter needs all three at once. De-duplication runs on top: the Duplicate Finder reads content rather than trusting filenames, so it catches the re-saved, re-scanned and forwarded copies a name check never would, and the set you index and bundle is the set you meant to.
